MANILA-Former Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile took his oath as chief presidential legal counsel of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Tuesday.

The President administered Enrile’s oath, the Palace’s Office of Press Secretary (OPS) said.

“Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. sworn into office today, July 26, 2022, Juan Valentin F. Ponce Enrile Sr. as Chief of Presidential Legal Counsel,” the OPS said.

The 98-year-old Enrile worked as interim finance secretary from 1966 to 1968, justice chief from 1968 to 1970, and national defense secretary from 1972 until 1986 under former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr., the incumbent President’s father.#
