A total of Php64,712.00 worth of illegal drugs were seized and four drug personalities were arrested in separate anti-illegal drugs operations conducted by the PRO Cordillera cops in Benguet, Kalinga, and Baguio City on April 8, 2024.
Citing the reports submitted to the PRO Cordillera Regional Director, PBGEN DAVID K PEREDO, JR, in Benguet, the operatives of Bakun Municipal Police Station (MPS), Regional Intelligence Unit-14, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU), and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency- Cordillera, uprooted and burned a total of 300 pcs of fully grown marijuana plants with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php60,000.00 after documentation in Sitio Dayasan, Brgy Kayapa, Bakun. Investigation is still ongoing to identify possible marijuana cultivators in the area.
Meanwhile, in Kalinga, a 37-year-old male identified as a High Value Individual, together with a 36-year-old and 26-year-old males, both identified as Street Level Individuals, were arrested by the joint operatives of PDEU, Tabuk CPS, Tanudan MPS, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15, and Regional Intelligence Division, after they sold one sachet of suspected shabu weighing more or less (MOL) 0.2 grams with SDP of Php1,360.00 to an operative who acted as a poseur buyer.
Further, in the course of their arrest, another sachet of suspected shabu weighing MOL 0.4 grams with SDP of Php2,720.00 was recovered from their possession.
Moreover, in Baguio City, the operatives of Baguio City Police Office arrested a 46-year-old male listed as a Street Level Individual after he sold one sachet of suspected shabu weighing more or less 0.093 grams with SDP of Php632.00 to an operative who acted as a poseur buyer.
All arrested suspects and pieces of evidence recovered were brought to the custody of the respective units in charge for documentation and proper disposition while charges for violation of the R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being prepared against the suspects.#
