Camp Marcelo A Adduru, Tuguegarao City – A 40-year-old businessman involved in a road rage along the National Highway in Bagabag, Nueva Vizcaya was arrested at a checkpoint manned by PNP Solano for violation of COMELEC Res. No. 10918 and Grave Threats.

The suspect was identified as Bryan Honrado, a businessman and a resident of San Isidro, Paranaque City, while the victim was named Danilo Asis, 51 years old, a truck driver, and a resident of Cabatuan, Isabela.

Based on the report of Solano Police Station to Police Regional Office 2, on September 17, 2023 at 2:50 AM prior to the incident, the suspect and the victim had road rage along the National Highway in Bagabag, Nueva Vizcaya. While in the process, the suspect overtook the victim’s truck, and upon passing by, the victim continuously honked his vehicle, prompting the suspect to stop his vehicle. Then, the victim also stopped, alighted from his vehicle, and approached the suspect until a heated argument prompted the suspect to draw his firearm from his sling bag and show it to the victim to frighten him. Afterwards, the victim went back inside his truck and drove it towards Solano town proper. While on the way, he reported the incident to Solano PS through a cellular phone call, and upon receipt of the call, the personnel manning the checkpoint were immediately alerted. Within a few minutes, the approaching vehicle of the suspect was sighted and flagged down. When asked, the suspect voluntarily surrendered his firearm with an inserted magazine, a cal. 45 Armscor Pistol with Serial Number RIA2326677.

The personnel manning the checkpoint asked the suspect if he had a Certificate of Authority issued by the Committee on the Ban on Firearms and Security Concerns (CBFCC), but he failed to show any documents. Instead, he presented his Firearm of Registration card (expiry date October 19, 2033), LTOPF (expiry date October 19, 2033), and Permit to Carry (valid until August 3, 2025).

The suspect and the confiscated firearm were brought to the Solano Police Station for documentation and appropriate disposition.
