SAN MANUEL, Isabela-Senate Majority Leader Francis Tolentino happily announced that the Department of Social Welfare and Development will implement its LITAW (Light, Internet, Water, Assistance and Welfare) Program next week.

This has brought cheers and acknowledgement to villagers in San Manuel town, one of the areas visited by Senator Tolentino aside from Aurora, Burgos, Roxas and Ilagan City.

According to him, the bill he wrote and now under the Three-Gives Law will provide assistance and support to people affected by calamities and in need of government assistance.

Based on this, affected people are allowed to pay their utility service bills, such as electricity, water, and internet, in three-month installments, especially during calamities or any emergency.

He said that Filipinos are often worried about the problem of expensive electricity, water, and internet service charges, which is why he pushed for the said law.

Among those who will be benefited are poor families and also members of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino program.

Senator Tolentino was in San Manuel town on January 22 where he distributed food packs to 600 families and 600 beneficiaries worth P2,000 each under the Assistance in Crisis Situation (AICS) program.#
