Camp Marcelo A Adduru, Tuguegarao City – Police Regional Office 2 celebrated the 122nd Police Service Anniversary with the theme “Nagkakaisang Pulisya at Pamayanan tungo sa Mapayapa at Maunlad na Bansa” with Police General Benjamin Acorda Jr, Chief, Philippine National Police as guest of honor and speaker at the PRO2 grandstand last September 29.
The activity started with the blessing and turn-over of equipment and newly-acquired motor vehicles. A total of 52 tactical vests, 52 enhanced combat helmets, 267 raincoats and 158 undershirt vests, 50 units of 5.56 MM basic assault rifle and 50 units 9MM stricker fired pistol Rex Delta, 32 unit emergency medical kit with various first aid supplies and program, 2 units personnel carrier, 21 units patrol jeep-single cab, 2 units of light transport vehicle and 1 unit Hino truck were distributed to different Police Stations of Cagayan, Isabela, and Nueva Vizcaya PPOs and other police units in Police Regional Office 2.
On the other hand, Inauguration and Blessing of Standard RHQ Building was also carried out. The construction of the building was funded by PNP-DPWH Convergence Program (Tatag ng Imprastraktura para sa Kapayapaan at Seguridad Program) amounting to Php 24, 230, 235.58.
Also part of the activity was the blessing and turn-over of CRS Quarters which was funded under approved program of expenditure of the PNP trust receipt fund for the month of May 2023 amounting to Php 3, 124, 000.00.
The 122nd PSA celebration was highlighted with the presentation of awards to PNP units and personnel for their outstanding performance and achievement in police service. This year’s awardees were Police Colonel Julio Gorospe, as Best Senior PCO for Administration, Police Colonel Mario Malana, Best Senior PCO for Operations, Police Lieutenant Colonel Eugenio Malilin, Best Junior PCO for Administration, Police Major Joseph Curugan, Best Junior PCO for Operations, Police Senior Master Sargeant Gisela Ydel, Best Senior PNCO for Administration, Police Chief Master Sargeant Dante Noblejas, Best Senior PNCO for Operations, Police Staff Sargeant Sheldimer Baltazar, Best Junior PNCO for Administration, Police Corporal Francis De Asis, Best Junior PNCO for Operations, Non Uniformed Personnel Noel Cuarteros, Best Non Uniformed Personnel (Supervisory Level) and Non Uniformed Personnel Cherry Ann B Gazzingan, Best NUP (Non-Supervisory Level).
For the unit awards, Cagayan PPO was adjudged as Best Police Provincial Office, Santiago CPO, Santiago CMFC and Regional Mobile Force Battalion 2 received Special Award, Ilagan City Police Station, Isabela PPO as Best City Police Station, Aparri Police Station, Cagayan PPO as Best Municipal Police Station, and 2nd Cagayan PMFC as Best Mobile Force Company.
Police General Acorda Jr, in his message, extended his profound gratitude for the efforts of the Valley Cops in upholding the mandate of the PNP with integrity and professionalism. He also mentioned that the Cagayan Valley region is on the peaceful areas under his watch with rare serious criminal cases. The PNP’s top cop also thanked the public for working hand in hand with the PNP that makes public service a success. Further, he encouraged everyone to continue their usual support with the uniformed and non-uniformed police, most especially in the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections 2023 for a safe, peaceful and orderly exercise of the right to suffrage.
