Filipina ace Alexandra Eala rewrote history by becoming the first player from the Philippines to win a major singles match, beating 14th-seeded Dane Clara Tauson 6-3, 2-6, 7-6 (13-11) at the US Open.

The deciding set proved costly for Tauson, who raced to a 1-5 lead but allowed Eala to got the upperhand at 6-5 before the former made it 6-6 and eventually forced a 10-point tiebreak.

With steel nerve, Eala won via a 13-11 tiebreak win.#
