The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued an extreme heat warning for Isabela and Cagayan provinces on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, with heat index readings reaching 36-40 degrees Celsius.
Engr. Tony Pagalilauan of PAGASA’s Northern Luzon Regional Services Division stated that this heat index falls under the “extreme caution” category. The public is advised to avoid prolonged sun exposure between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, as these are the hours when the heat is most intense.
PAGASA explains that the highest heat index is felt between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM, urging people to stay indoors during these hours to prevent heat-related illnesses. Residents of Isabela and Cagayan are urged to take necessary precautions to protect themselves from the extreme heat. Staying hydrated and limiting outdoor activities during the hottest parts of the day are crucial to prevent heatstroke and other heat-related illnesses.
