Former president Rodrigo Duterte was arrested at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on Tuesday, March 11, through a warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC).

He was listed as the first former Philippine head of state to be arrested through an order by an international tribunal.

The former President would face charges for crimes against humanity before the international court.

This has been due to his drug war that killed about 30,000 people, human rights group records showed.

Earlier, former president was put on Red Notice alert by the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol), following the ICC’s issuance of a warrant.#
