A woman was killed after being hacked in the head while doing laundry in Zone 2, Brgy. Magapit, Lal-lo, Cagayan recently.
The victim was identified only as Maricel, 27-year-old , while the suspect was named alias Romeo, 32 years old and a resident of Zone 2, Upper Magapit, Brgy Magapit, Lal-lo.
According to the report, a concerned citizen informed the authorities about the crime that occurred. The authorities immediately responded, but when they arrived at the scene, they were confronted with the lifeless body of the victim.
Based on the investigation, the victim was allegedly doing laundry while the suspect was sleeping. And because of the noise around him, the suspect woke up and then struck the victim on the head with his bolo.
The suspect surrendered the used bolo to his neighbor before fleeing.
The authorities immediately conducted a hot-pursuit operation, and after a five-minute chase, they cornered the suspect in a cornfield.
For now, the suspect is in the custody of Lal-lo Municipal Police Station for proper disposition while undergoing investigation.#
