CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela-A 63-year-old village head of Cabiseria 27 (Abuan) in this city was shot and killed by two motorcycle-riding-in-tandem men in his village on March 4,2025.
Police Capt. Noralyn Andal, Ilagan police spokesperson, already pinpointed persons of interest in the killing of Avelino Quitola, 63, village head of Cabiseria 27 (Abuan) who succumbed to head and body bullet wounds after the attack.
Quitola was on his way home after supervising operations at his business in Villa Imelda village when he was attacked by the helmet-wearing and black-jacket wearing gunmen, who rode in an unlicensed motorcycle. His wife left their store earlier on board an electric bike while he rode the kolong-kolong tricycle on his way home.
Police Lt. Col. Jeffrey Raposas, Ilagan police chief, said they could not determine yet the motive of the killing, as well as the identities of the killers.
The Ilagan police tried to put up checkpoints with Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB) at Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) in dragnet operations but arrested no one.#
