Marce (international name: Yinxing) further intensified and was classified as under typhoon category by mid-morning on Tuesday, prompting the state weather bureau to raise Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No.1 over 12 areas in Luzon.
It was was last spotted 590 kilometers east of Baler, Aurora, carrying maximum sustained winds of 120 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 150 kph, according to a weather bulletin issued at 11 a.m. by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
It was moving west-northwestward at 30 kph.
