CAUAYAN CITY-The LPG Marketers Association (LPGMA) and REGASCO advocated responsible and safe liquified petroleum gas use LPG use as a form of awareness and adherence to the guidelines set under RA 11592 or the LPG Law.
LPGMA Partylist and REGASCO President Arnel Ty, who was joined by the ambassadors from the TV series “Batang Quiapo,” said the “proper information for the safe use of LPG and all the provisions of the law and the consumers” are vital.
Reacting to an LPG explosion that hurt a caretaker in this city recently, the former LPGMA partylist representative, whose post is being held now by his brother Allan Ty, said “safety” must be always observed. It could be recalled that a certain Russell Acob was hurt in Purok 5 in Tagaran village here when the LPG tank he was allegedly siphoning content had exploded. The lower parts of Acob’s two legs were burned. He was brought to the hospital.
Ty said the LPG Law ensures the” safety and welfare of the consumers and the people” as it establishes comprehensive guidelines for the proper handling, storage, and distribution of LPG.
“This creates a framework that actively safeguards against potential hazards. We, in the private sector, push for safe and standard LPG cylinders,” he added.
“There are four million cylinders that are dilapidated and unsafe but because there’s a law, those who have rusty ones, they can demand to be replaced, they can be replaced with a safe tank because that’s free, it’s stated in the law that they can get well, safe and good tank. They can communicate with any brands that have a license to operate. We can help them, up to license to operate, we can help them,” he said.#
