TUGUEGARAO CITY-Two men escaped from authorities after they were caught illegally cutting wood in the mountainous area of ​​Bunagan, Baggao, Cagayan.

According to PNP Baggao, while conducting an anti-illegal logging operation, they heard a noise from a chainsaw in the forest.

When approached, the police found the suspects identified as Alyas Lito and Alyas Didoy who are also residents of the area. It is said that the suspects quickly ran away when they were approached.

After further investigation, authorities found out that the chainsaw left by the suspects and the cut trees of Kalantas has no corresponding document.

Based on the inventory, the recovered logs are estimated to reach 216 board feet and cost P15,120.

The case of violation of Presidential Decree (PD) 705 or Forestry Reform Code of the Philippines against the fleeing suspects will be filed through regular filing.#
