Camp Adduru, Tuguegarao City – Through the intensified campaign against insurgency, Valley Cops together with Armed Forces of the Philippines successfully facilitate the surrender of two members of Militia ng Bayan at Niug Norte, Santo Niño, Cagayan.
The former rebels were identified as alias “Buboy”, 55-year-old and alias “Moira”, 54-year-old both resident of the said place.
Further, Buboy also surrendered one (1) pistol (Norinco 1911 Caliber .45 ACP) with one (1) magazine and seven (7) live ammunitions.
The surrender of former rebels asserted the efforts of the government through strong ties between the Philippine National Police and Armed Forces of the Philippines to end insurgency in region 2.
“Unti-unti ng nauubos ang pwersa ng makakaliwang grupo. Isa itong patunay na nakikita at nararamdaman ng ating mga kababayan ang tulong ng gobyerno upang mapaganda at mapabuti ang kanilang pamumuhay. I ask the other rebels to go back to folds of the government at tulungan kaming sugpuin ang suliranin sa insurhensiya,” Police Brigadier General Birung said.
