Showing her prowess, World No. 74 Filipina tennis star Alexandra Eala crushed Ukraine’s Dayana Yastremska, World’s No. 42, in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2 in the quarterfinals of the WTA 250 Lexus Eastbourne Open in Great Britain.
Due to her victory, Eala barged into the semifinals and will be up against France’s Varvara Gracheva.
She defeated Gracheva in the qualifying round of the Nottingham Open, where Eala trounced Gracheva, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3. Gracheva advanced after her opponent, Barbora Krejcikova, withdrew from their quarterfinal match.
If she wins, she may end in a possible battle against giant-killer Maya Joint, who defeated stars Emma Raducanu and Anna Blinkova in her previous matches.(VCV)
