TUMAUINI, Isabela-The Social Security System officials personally visited and notified eight delinquent contribution payers on October 14 due to non-remittances amounting to P626,992 arrears and penalties.

Porfirio Balatico, SSS vice president for Luzon North 2 Division, said on Friday (October 14) in an ambush interview with reporters that the personal visits and distribution of notices and demand letters have been initiated to increase employer compliance and intensify coverage and collection through the Run After Contribution Evaders (RACE).

“The negligence of employers is equivalent to the missed opportunities of workers who were supposed to be enjoying their social security benefits and privileges,” he added.

Lawyer Vicente Cuenca, Legal Department Manager for Luzon North 2, said they have been offering amicable settlements through the pandemic relief and restructuring programs to allow employers to regain their good standing and maintain active membership of their employees.

The employers have until November 22 to avail of the restructuring scheme.

The visited employers were given 15 calendar days from the date of the visit to submit their application for condonation of accrued penalties from March 2020 onwards.#
