A Philippine Serpent Eagle (Spilornis holospilus) was released two days ago in the forests of Nueva Vizcaya by staff workers from the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) Dupax.
The bird was initially turned over to CENRO Dupax by Aouie Necosia, a teacher at Dupax del Norte National High School, on August 26. The bird was weak, dehydrated, and had many lice when examined.
Brought to the Provincial Veterinary Services Office (PVSO) in Bayombong on August 28.
The bird was unhurt except that it was weak and had a lot of lice.
He was immediately given Vitamin B-Complex with liver extract to help him recover from the illness.
When it grew stronger, it was returned to CENRO Dupax and
released the day before yesterday.
The Philippine Serpent Eagle is endemic to the country. #
