CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela- Senator Lito Lapid reminded fellow Catholic devotees to meditate and pray as a sign of solidarity to unify the country during the Holy Week revelry.
In an exclusive ambush interview of this news correspondent with him, Senator Lapid said the Lenten Season is the “best and good time for the country’s leaders to unite” and avoid disunity to advance the welfare of the people.
He did not elaborate, apparently not focusing on the continuous bickering between President Ferdinand Marcos and the Dutertes–Vice President Sara Duterte and former President Rodrigo Duterte.
Senator Lapid advised people to always drink water and avoid soaking in the sun. This period, heat indices hover between 42-degree Celsius to 43-degree Celsius in Isabela and Cagayan. He also specifically cited the elderly to always be careful and avoid hot weather to be safe and healthy.
Popularly known as Leon Guerrero in the silver screen, Senator Lapid is also an author in the Senate for more than 1,000 bills, about 100 of these later become laws.
Noted among the laws he crafted include the Free Legal Assistance Law or Lapid Law which provides lawyers for the poor and those aggrieved by the law.
After his market and street tours in Isabela, he later made campaign rallies in Tuguegarao City in Cagayan.#
