KALINGA-Rock fragments fell onto the road from the top of the mountain, so the Lubuagan-Batong Buhay national road in Sitio Colong, Lower Uma, Lubuagan in this province was temporarily closed to motorists on August 23.
Because of the rockfall, clearing operations were done in the area and motorists were advised not to use the road during that time.
Government officials said no alternative route has been located in the area, so motorists were made to wait for it to be cleared by heavy equipment from the national government, particularly the Department of Public Works and Highways.#
