TUGUEGARAO CITY – The Police Regional Office 2 in collaboration with the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos and Tuguegarao City Muslim Consultative Council successfully conducted a one-day SPAG Community Outreach Program and Islamic Symposium in Solana & Penablanca, Cagayan on July 16 this year.
The Salaam Police Advocacy Support Group (SPAG) Community Outreach Program is in line with the celebration of 27th Police Community Relations Month with the theme: “Ugnayang Pulisya at Komunidad Tungo sa Mapayapa, Maayos at Maunlad na Pamayanan”. More or less 100 individuals were benefited in the program wherein everyone received a sack of rice and food pack. Bro Edwin “IMRAN” Odak Umpad, Representative from Bahrain, Discover Islam Society was the guest speaker during the Islamic Symposium with the theme “ONENESS to SUCCESS” conducted in North Western Brgy hall, Solana, Cagayan and in Barangay Hall of San Roque, Penablanca, Cagayan.
Likewise, Acmad Rachmadin D Cosain, Regional President, SPAG expressed his gratitude to the leadership of Police Regional Office 2 for the support extended to the entire Muslim Community in the region. He also emphasized the important role of their group in maintaining peace and security in the community.
On the other hand, Police Major Baby Rose P Cajulao, Chief, Community Affairs Section discussed and explained well to the beneficiaries the Overview of Salaam Police Advocacy Support Group in Solana and same activities were conducted in Penablanca, Cagayan wherein Police Major Sharon C Mallillin, Public Information Section/Officer-in-Charge, Regional Public Information Office, Regional Community Affairs and Development Division also discussed the Overview of the SPAG to the said participants.
SPAG is a group composed of muslim leaders, peace advocates and other force multipliers organized by the PNP which aims to support the police in the maintainance of peace and order in the community. Also present during the activity were personnel of Solana Police Station led by Police Captain Jose Gaudencio B Pagulayan, Deputy Chief of Police and personnel of Penablanca Police Station; other representatives from Discover Islam Society Bahrain; Barangay Officials of Barangay North Western, Solana and Barangay San Roque, Penablanca in Cagayan. # (Photo courtesy: PNP-PRO2)
