CAMP MARCELO A. ADDURU, TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – With the theme, “Ligtas Ka sa Bagong Pilipinas,” Police Regional Office 2 under the leadership of POLICE BRIGADIER GENERAL CHRISTOPHER C BIRUNG, PRO2 Regional Director, held the kick-off ceremony of the 29th Police Community Relations month in conjunction with the traditional flag raising ceremony today, July 1, with Ramon M Rañeses, MNSA, CESO IV, Regional Director, National Police Commission Regional Office 2 as guest of honor and speaker.
In his message, Director Rañeses manifested the all-out support of the NAPOLCOM RO2 to the endeavors of Police Regional Office 2 towards the attainment of a Bagong Pilipinas. He likewise commended the sacrifices and dedication of the men and women in uniform in keeping Cagayan Valley a peaceful and safe community. The Regional Director of NAPOLOM RO2 urged the police to always uphold the highest degree of integrity and professionalism in the exercise of the mandate of the Philippine National Police.
Moreover, PRO2 through the Regional Community Affairs and Development Division showcased the lined-up activities in celebration of the PCR month to include the conduct of PNP Family Day, medical check-ups; License to Own and Possess Firearms and Firearm Registration Processing Caravan; Motor Vehicle Verification and Registration; Legal Service Counselling; Issuance of Police Clearance; Seminar on Laws and Procedures relative to Gender-based Violence; Orientation on Gender Sensitivity and Gender Fair Language; 1st Regional Summit on Men Opposed to Violence against Women Everywhere (MOVE); 5-day Seminar on Disaster Preparedness and Search, Rescue, and Retrieval Operations; Bloodletting and Tree Planting Activities. Also joining these programs are the different government agencies, such as the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Department of Labor and Employment, the Land Transportation Office, the Philippine Statistics Authority, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, the Commission on Elections, the Professional Regulation Commission, the National Housing Authority, and the Department of Agriculture, who will also be rendering public services.
During the program, five Gallant Valley cops were also recognized for their exemplary performance of duty. The PNP Medal of Merit, or Medalya ng Kagalingan, was accorded to POLICE MAJOR ARNEL L ACAIN; POLICE MAJOR RANULFO S GABATIN; Police Corporal Jerry S Elarde Jr.; Police Corporal Oliver B Ramirez; and Patrolman Ryan L Rodriguez for the successful arrest of wanted persons and intensification of the campaign against illegal drugs in Cagayan Valley.
Throughout the years, the men and women of Police Regional Office 2 have been at the forefront of community relations efforts, engaging with residents, listening to their concerns, and working together to ensure the safety and well-being of all. It is through these sustained efforts that trust and cooperation have been built between the police and the community, creating a safer and more harmonious environment for everyone.#
