Camp Marcelo A Adduru, Tuguegarao City – Operatives from RDEU2, Cagayan PPO and Tuguegarao City PS conducted an anti-illegal drug-buy bust operation that led to the arrest of a businessman regarded as High Value Individual and confiscation of P98,800.00 worth of illegal drugs in Brgy. Leonarda, Tuguegarao City, yesterday.
The operatives identified the suspect as alias “Orlan”, 34-year-old and a resident of Peñablanca, Cagayan.
The suspect was arrested when he sold one brick of alleged marijuana with an estimated weight of 700 grams to a poseur buyer.
Seized from his direct position were five pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected Shabu, one piece heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing more or less 10 grams of dried marijuana leaves with fruiting tops and stalks, buy-bust money, cellphone and motorcycle.
In total, the recovered alleged Marijuana is more or less 710 grams with Standard Drug Price (SDP) with amounting to Php 85,200.00 and more or less two grams of alleged Shabu with Standard Drug Price of Php 13,600.00.
The suspect is now under the custody of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 2 and will be charged for violation of RA 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
“I commend the operatives for the successful conduct of buy-bust operation. The arrest of the suspect shows that the Valley Cops intensify the campaign against illegal drugs,” Police Brigadier General Christopher Birung said.
