TABUK CITY-Police and anti-drug enforcement agents uprooted and burned P5-million-worth marijuana plants in two plantations in the mountains in Buscalan, Tinglayan, Kalinga on Friday, a belated police report said on Sunday.
Police Major Garry Gayamos, Kalinga police spokesperson, told this correspondent over the phone on Sunday that the Kalinga police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency operatives launched the Oplan Man-Gabut following information from tipsters about the marijuana plants.
Operatives found the 1,500-hectare plantation worth P3-million and another area with the same hectare worth P2-million.
The plants were uprooted and burned except for some gathered for submission to the laboratory.
No cultivators were arrested, Gayamos added.#
