Our Lady of the Pillar Parish church Diocese of Cauayan celebrated its 282nd founding anniversary together with the conferment of National Cultural Treasure last March 30, 2023.

Rev. Father Patrick Pua, the Parish priest lead the unveiling of the marker erected in front of the church and he was accompanied by Dr. Alexander Miano, Regional Director of the Department of Tourism Region II, together with the roster of Cauayan city administrative leaders headed by Vice Governor Faustino Dy III, Mayor Jaycee Dy, and Vice Mayor Leoncio Bong Dalin.

Bishop David William Antonio, Bishop Patrick Caro of Diocese of Ilagan and Parish Priest of Cordon Rev. Ian Mamauag was also present on the said event.

A holy eucharistic Mass was held first inside the church before the ceremony and it was attended by the lay faithful of the City of Cauayan. Simultaneously, the municipality and its constituents also commemorated their 22nd cityhood anniversary.

The National Museum of the Philippines declared the Parish church as one of the most important cultural properties in the country due to its cultural significance and establishment 282 years ago.#
