KASIBU, Nueva Vizcaya-As part of its continuing support for education, OceanaGold (Philippines), Inc. (OGP) added 44 new scholars from its host and neighboring communities in Nueva Vizcaya and Quirino.
They signed the memorandum of agreement (MOA) with OGP last 1 December at the old Barangay Hall in Didipio, Kasibu, Nueva Vizcaya.
The new scholars will be supported under OGP’s three educational assistance programs: Host Community, Neighboring Community, and Social Development and Management Program.
Twenty-three are from host barangay of Didipio, while 21 are from the neighboring communities of Wangal (3), Binogawan (4), Alimit (4), Tukod (2) in Kasibu, Nueva Vizcaya; and Dingasan (1), Dibibi (5), Tucod (2) in Cabarroguis, Quirino.
The Mine’s Community Relations and Development department also oriented the new scholars and their parents/guardians regarding the scholarship guidelines, qualifications, benefits, and the scholars’ responsibilities.#
