TUGUEGARAO CITY-Adhering to the memorandum circular of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), airport authorities have barred unvaccinated passengers and visitors since January 17 from entering the airports in Cagayan Valley.

Mary Sulyn Sagorsor, CAAP-Tuguegarao area manager, announced in an advisory on Monday that they have been imposing the “No Vaccination Card, No Entry Policy” at Cagayan, Isabela, and Batanes airports to ensure that only fully vaccinated people such as passengers, visitors, guests, and other clients are within the said facilities before entering the access gates.

Partially vaccinated and unvaccinated guests would also be required to submit negative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test result, which should be taken 48 hours before arrival at the said airports.

Exemptions, however, were given to passengers with medical conditions provided that evidence would prove that they could not be given COVID-19 vaccination.

Airport workers and security members were also 100-percent fully vaccinated.

The order would remain as the regions has been under critical high risk due to the spike of cases.

Flights have been limited to inter-island air trips as CAAP has temporarily halted flights to Metro Manila due to the spike of cases.#
