Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – The Provincial Government of Cagayan officially opened its new “One Town, One Product” (OTOP) Philippines Store on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at the Gasat Hall in the Capitol Compound.
The store aims to showcase and sell locally-made products from Cagayan province. Atty. Rosario Mamba-Villaflor, in her message, emphasized the importance of dedication in achieving goals for Cagayan’s progress. She stated, “These are proofs and validation that when you plan, if you have the motivation and determination to make things happen, it will happen.”
The establishment of the OTOP Hub began under Governor Mamba’s administration, starting with the construction of a visitor’s pavilion in Nassiping, Gattaran, as a tourist stop-over point. The first OTOP Hub in Nassiping, Gattaran, has become an award-winning store in the region and nationally. The new OTOP Hub, managed by the Provincial Government, demonstrates the strong partnership between the PGC and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
It also highlights the potential for collective achievement when individuals share a common goal. Atty. Mamba-Villaflor expressed gratitude to the various small and medium enterprises (SMEs) participating as sellers in the new hub and announced plans to include them in international expositions for benchmarking and global market access. EnP. Jennifer Junio-Baquiran added that the opening of the new OTOP Hub is more than just selling Cagayan products; it represents the identity, diligence, and creativity of the Cagayan people. She thanked those in attendance for their support of Cagayan products and expressed pride in Cagayan’s entrepreneurs.
She described the initiative as “a journey to economic empowerment, tourism development, and entrepreneurship in Cagayan,” referencing the success of the Nassiping, Gattaran OTOP Hub, which opened in 2019 and has received numerous awards from the DTI for its high sales.
Last year, it was recognized by DTI Region 02 as an Outstanding Development Partner under the “Providing/Improving Access to Markets” category. #
