ENRILE, Cagayan–At least 3,000 supporters of Manila Mayor and presidential aspirant Francisco “Isko Moreno” Dmagoso gathered at Taguibao compound in this town, a known bailiwick of the Enrile political clans who are supporting the candidacy of Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in the May 9 elections.

Acknowledging the challenge of courting residents here and in the entire Cagayan province,  Moreno asked them to chip away even a few votes for him.

Moreno thanked his local supporters, including Aksyon Demokratiko mayoral bet and incumbent Vice Mayor Expedito Taguibao, who helped organized his campaign sortie here.

The agricultural town of Enrile is a third-class municipality named after Spanish Governor-General Pasqual Enrile, believed to be an ancestor of former Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile, who publicly endorsed Ferdinand Marcos Jr. last month.

Situated in the southernmost part of Cagayan, the town has a population of 36,705 people based on the 2020 census.

According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 36,705 people. Enrile lies in the southernmost part of Cagayan.

In a speech, Moreno said, “We will directly campaign to the people, no so much to local politicians.”

On Thursday, Moreno also visited Isabela province, where he met with his supporters, including Cauayan City Mayor Bernard Dy, Luna Mayor Jimmy Atayde and Naguilian Mayor Juan Capuchino. The three mayors openly endorsed Moreno during a meeting at a local hotel in Cauayan.#
