Senator Christopher “Bong” Go led a motorcade on Monday, April 14, with his co-senatorial candidates of the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino (PDP) in Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental.

The candidates were met with wild cheering and waving of the supporters, eager to show their support for the candidates who have vowed to carry forward the brand of leadership rooted in service and action — the same values championed by former President Rodrigo Duterte.

“Ipaglalaban naming lahat sa PDP ang ikabubuti ng Mindanao tulad ng ipinaglaban ni Tatay Digong. Ipagdasal po natin ang kaniyang kalusugan, kaligtasan, at kalayaan,” Go declared.

During the motorcade, Go was accompanied by his co-senatorial candidates, Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, Philip “Ipe” Salvador, Atty. Jimmy Bondoc, Atty. Vic Rodriguez, Atty. Jayvee Hinlo, Atty. Raul Lambino, Dr. Richard Mata, and representatives of Congressman Atty. Rodante Marcoleta and Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.

“Maraming salamat po sa inyong suporta. Makakaasa po kayo na kami ay patuloy na mag seserbisyo sa abot ng aming makakaya,” Go stressed.

Senator Go, Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Health, then emphasized his ongoing commitment to ensuring accessible healthcare and genuine public service. As Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Health and Demography, he highlighted key programs like the Malasakit Centers he championed as the principal author and sponsor of Republic Act No. 11463.

To date, 167 Malasakit Centers are operational nationwide, including three in Misamis Oriental located at Northern Mindanao Medical Center and JR Borja General Hospital in Cagayan De Oro City and Misamis Oriental General Hospital in Medina.

Go also highlighted the rollout of Super Health Centers nationwide. With more than 700 Super Health Centers funded, including 17 in Misamis Oriental, Go credited the collaboration between lawmakers, local leaders, and the Department of Health. That same day, he led the turnover of the Super Health Center in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental.

Further expanding access to specialized healthcare, Go proudly cited RA 11959, or the Regional Specialty Centers Act, being its principal sponsor and one of the authors, which mandates the establishment of specialty medical units in every DOH regional hospital.

Go and his co-senatorial candidates also engaged directly with the community, supporting local vendors selling fruits and snacks while encouraging Filipinos to support small businesses to help the local economy.

“Mga kababayan ko, minsan lang tayo dadaan sa mundong ito. Kung ano pong kabutihan o tulong na pwede natin gawin, gawin na po natin ngayon. Dahil hindi na tayo babalik sa mundong ito,” Go said.

Earlier that day, Go also personally attended the turnover ceremony of the new Super Health Center in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental. He also attended the PDP rally in El Salvador after the motorcade.#
