SANTIAGO CITY- A 31-year-old man who posed as a police officer in an attempt to dupe money was indicted before the prosecutor’s office on Friday after he was arrested by the police in Purok 4, Barangay Tuao North, Bagabag, Nueva Vizcaya, police said.
Police Major Nova Lyn Aggasid, Nueva Vizcaya provincial police information officer, told this correspondent on Friday evening that the 31-year-old man was named only as Roy, citing data privacy, of Macabebe in Pampanga. He allegedly tried to dupe money from a certain Jaja by posing as a police officer under the PNP Special Action Force (SAF).
The victim immediately informed the police and an entrapment operation has led to the arrest of Roy. He yielded a bogus PNP identification card and other personal items.
He was brought to the Bagabag police and was later indicted for breaching Article 177 of the Revised Penal Code for usurpation of authority.#
