A man was found lifeless after drowning in the Cagayan River between Barangay Bulala and Dacal-Lafugu in Camalanigan, Cagayan.
Emi Damaso, 61, of Brgy, was recognized as the victim after the incidence reached the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) Camalaniugan. January 24, 2025, Dammang Sur in the aforementioned town.
The body was discovered yesterday, January 26, 2025, in the Brgy. Bulala area after the rescuers, police, and Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) launched a quick search and rescue operation.
According to MDRRMO Camalaniugan, the man boarded a boat on a Friday night while he was on his way home and had to cross a river. The man may have drowned as a result of unintentionally falling from his boat and being unable to climb back.
The victim was found to have been under the influence of intoxicating substances at the time of the incident.
The discovered body was positively recognized by the family and given to the kin.#
