CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela-This city’s pride of homegrown athletics bet, Hokett Delos Santos leaped 5.10m to place 11th out of 18 entries in the 2025 Busan International Pole Vault Meeting, a World Athletics Continental Tour Challenger in South Korea.
He tried to clear 5.20m but failed in three tries. He started at 4.80m, then 5.00m in his second try and 5.10m in his initial attempt.
Thailand’s Patsapong Amsam-ang leaped 5.50 meters to win gold.
Despite the debacle, Hokett’s coach Emerson Obiena told sportswriters that his protégé is improving with a 5.20m to 5.30m target soonest.
