Aside from being the First Smart and Sustainable City in the Philippines, Cauayan City has a rich history to offer. Situated in the now known “Hacienda de San Luis Eco-Tourism Park”, founded in 1880 and named after the patron Saint Louis of Spain. It is an eco-tourism spot in Cauayan City which popularly known before as a Tabacalera hacienda purchasing a tobacco during the rule of Spanish colonial. At present, the hacienda features a museum where one can learn the history of Cauayan City and also a sight-seeing about the Tabacalera. Activities also include such as zipline, rappelling, and rock climbing.

The Hacienda de San Luis is like a walk down on Cauayeños memory lane and experience the City in the year 1740. A rich cultural heritage preserved for generations to know. Inside the compound of Hacienda de San Luis, you can also take a look and visit Museo de San Luis, and get to know how tobaccos are made for the Manila – Acapulco Galleon Trade. And if you are the outdoorsy, adventurous kind who’s got energy to spare, scale up their wall climbing platform, take a ride on their zipline and enjoy the panoramic view of the majestic Cagayan River.

But that is not all Hacienda de San Luis Eco-Tourism Park has to offer. It also recently added new amenities and attractions waiting for you to experience. They now have a Cagayan Valley Science Centrum. Aside from the attractions, Hacienda de San Luis is also open for MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events). You can also shoot at the place with a minimal fee. (Kayla Dy/on-the-job trainee)
