CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela-Fresh as a Vietnam award-giving body awardee, City Mayor Josemarie Diaz would also soon be invading the silver screen as he will be portrayed by popular drama actor Gabby Concepcion in a movie titled, “Pira-Pirasong Pangarap.”
Film director Romm Burlat told the Manila Times that he was “excited” with the cast led by Concepcion, who further heightened his popularity with his GMA7 television soap hit “First Yaya” with young actress Sanya Lopez.
The ‘Pira-Pirasong Pangarap’ plot portrays the “interesting and inspiring” story of Mayor Diaz who defied odds and challenges in life as a political leader.
Director Burlat said the star-studded cast include veterans in the movie industry such as Jake Cuenca, William Martinez,Lovely Rivero,Elijah Alejo, Ron Macapagal, Jethro Ramirez, Jhane Santiguel, Sabrina M, and Angelica Jones.
The mayor would reveal challenging and untold stories in his “colorful life,” Burlat added.
Last March 30, Mayor Diaz was awarded as the Most Outstanding and Remarkable Mayor of the Philippines by the Vietnam International Awards.
The film producer is Alexander Lopez.
“So far, Pira-Pirasong Pangarap is my biggest project to date. My scriptwriter is the one who wrote for Ma’Rosa which gave Jaclyn Jose her Best Actress award at Cannes, Troy Espiritu,” Director Burlat added.
A 3D storyboard, dubbed as the one of the best and first in the Philippines and also being used in Hollywood and Korea, will be used, he said.
The shooting of the movie will be slated in May this year.#
