The DOH-CAR reported 17 additional Firework-Related Injury (FWRI) cases in the region from January 1 to 2, 2025.

The new cases include a stray bullet injury from Kalinga. Fortunately, no death was recorded.

The additional brings the total number of FWRI cases to 42 in the Cordillera region as of January 2, 2025.

The province of Abra recorded the highest number of FWRI cases with nine, followed by Baguio City and Kalinga province with eight cases each and Benguet with seven cases.

Apayao and Mountain Province recorded four cases each while Ifugao had a lone FWRI case.

The majority of injured cases are males, with 32 cases. The youngest victim is four years old, while the oldest is 84 years old. Eleven cases sustained eye injury, while 26 cases had blast/burn injuries without amputation, three cases of blast/burn injury with amputation, and another one with multiple injuries.#
