CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela-The father-and-son tandem of incumbent mayor Josemarie “Jay” Diaz and his son, incumbent councilor Jayve Diaz, were proclaimed mayoralty and vice mayoralty winners on May 13 dawn here.

Mayor Diaz garnered 74,188 votes as against Atty. Gideon Ventura who tallied 6,931 votes. For vice mayor, Jayve got 60,723 votes as against former councilor Margarette Uy-Chin who tallied 20,935 votes and Hermogenes Antonio who got 375 votes.

“I am very much thankful for the trust as I will serve my third and last term as mayor,” Diaz said.

The mayor’s son, Jayve, said his victory is a “calling for service” and he will “take action as a public servant and always with results.”

Elected council members were Rachel Villanueva-Garcia, Kyrill “Kit” Bello, Harold Olalia, Josephine Baggao-Borromeo, Rolly Tugade, Lillian Bringas, Antonio Manaligod Jr., Perlita Gaoiran, Gaylor Malunay and Maria Victoria “Bic-Bic” Albano.#
