TUGUEGARAO CITY – Eight people were arrested following an alleged attempted theft at a telecommunications company in the city the other night.
According to the Tuguegarao Component City Police Station (TCCPS), authorities detected suspicious activity through the CCTV cameras at the Command Center, where the suspects were seen digging into a manhole near the company’s compound. In response, police officers quickly arrived at the scene and caught the suspects in the act.
The arrested individuals were identified only with their aliases as Josh, 29-year-old; Nino, 38; Benny, 34); Baldo, 24; Popo, 28;Boyet, 22; Garry, 44, and Melan, 28.All of them were found to be transients of the city.
Upon inspection, the suspects failed to present any valid permits for their activities, leading to their immediate arrest. The police also confiscated several tools and equipment from the suspects, including one chain lock, two large bolt cutters, one small chisel, two large hammers, one small hammer, one crowbar, one digging bar, three improvised digging bars, four green reflectorized construction shirts, and a white vehicle.
All suspects are now in the custody of the police and are facing charges of attempted robbery.
