LOOK now and see the prospective future of the tourism sector in the Philippines as around 4.08 million foreign tourists arrived in the country since Jan. 1 this year in the latest Department of Tourism (DOT) announcement.
Upbeat on the future of the tourism industry, DOT Secretary Christina Garcia-Frasco took an uptrend data as the registered tourist arrivals was more than half of the targeted 7.7 million visitors for 2024.
While there is still a shortfall of 3.61 million visitors to meet the annual target, the tourism sector has been getting a shot in the arm, so to speak.
Data shows that tourism revenues from January to August 2024 have reached P362 billion, reflecting an 11.17 percent increase over pre-pandemic levels, thanks in part to the innovative strategies that go beyond traditional marketing.
The tourism department is now introducing new and immersive experiences that allow visitors to truly connect with the essence of the Philippines, vowing to improve experiential tourism and its diverse offerings.
More to go for the tourism-friendly Philippines.#
