Sta. Fe, Nueva Vizcaya—Through the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program, DOLE Nueva Vizcaya provided starter kits for the livelihood of 18 workers and financial assistance to 48 beneficiaries of the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) on January 15.
The beneficiaries of the livelihood program were given a total of P540,000.00 for projects such as food vending, welding, carpentry, automotive repair, salon services, and clothing production.
“The beneficiaries of the livelihood program are skilled workers, so it is only right that they are assisted by the Department,” said Elizabeth, the provincial manager of DOLE.
According to Elizabeth, she values the local government, under the leadership of Mayor Liwayway Caramat, for its collaboration with DOLE to ensure that the beneficiaries are qualified.
Part of the program also includes training beneficiaries in money management techniques to help them manage their own income.
On the other hand, P181,528.00 was distributed to the SPES beneficiaries. P3,781.84 was granted to each student who was given the opportunity to work during the vacation.
