Nueva Vizcaya – The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Region 2, through the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) Nueva Vizcaya, has donated 17,372 board feet of lumber to eight schools in the province to support reconstruction and expansion efforts.
The donation, led by PENRO Nueva Vizcaya Head Engr. Giovannie Magat and Dr. Romulo Ancheta, Chief Education Supervisor of the Schools Division Office’s Governance Operations Division, was formalized through the signing of a Deed of Donation with the school heads of the beneficiary institutions. PENRO Magat emphasized the significance of sustainable resource use in addressing educational needs.”This collaboration exemplifies how we can maximize our natural resources responsibly, ensuring that both present and future generations benefit,” he stated.
Dr. Ancheta expressed gratitude for the donation, noting its impact on schools affected by the 2024 typhoons. “We are truly grateful for this generous contribution from the DENR, which will greatly support our ongoing recovery and expansion efforts,” he said. The beneficiary schools include Luclucos Integrated School (Kayapa), Almaguer North Elementary School (Bambang), Cesario M. Tubiera Elementary School, Darapidap Elementary School, Aritao Central School (Aritao), and Kasibu Elementary School, Bua Elementary School, and Domang Elementary School (Kasibu).
The donated lumber will be used to rebuild classrooms and improve educational facilities, reinforcing the DENR’s commitment to both environmental stewardship and community development.
