TUGUEGARAO CITY––Vice President Leni Robredo has managed to leave a minor crack in the so-called “Solid North” in the Cagayan Valley region after topping the presidential race in Batanes province.

Robredo beat presumptive president Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in Batanes with a narrow margin of votes based on the final count of the Commission on Elections.

The vice president obtained 5,195 votes, while Marcos Jr. got 4,358 votes, reflecting a margin of 837 votes.

Robredo’s running mate, Sen. Francis “Kiko Pangilinan, ranked second in the vice-presidential race, with 3,511 votes. Sara Duterte topped it with 4,523 votes.#
