TUGUEGARAO CITY-A 48-year medical doctor died when his car fell off a narrow bridge in Sitio Sinippil, Barangay Tungel, Baggao, Cagayan on September 15 at 8:11 in the evening, police said.
Police Lt. Col. Rovelita Aglipay, Baggao police chief, said the fatality, Dr Nixon Cabucana, 48, of Barsat East village in Baggao, was on his way to Tuguegarao City when he miscalculated a narrow bridge, rammed onto a pile of gravel and fell down the river during a rainy night.
He was retrieved still buckled with his seatbelt, but his head was immersed in water as his car was upside down.
He was declared dead on arrival at the Baggao District Hospital.
Cabucana was awarded the Gold Medal for Community Development in the Dangal ng Lahing Cagayano in June 2025 by the provincial government.#
