The body of a 20-year-old female student was found in an irrigation canal in San Mateo, Isabela, with a severe head injury suggesting she was bludgeoned to death. The body of Maehyezine Get-ang Concepcion, a Computer Engineering student at Ifugao State University, was discovered on the morning of March 11.

Concepcion, a married woman with a 9-month-old child, was a resident of Barangay Namnama, Alfonso Lista, Ifugao, a town neighboring San Mateo and Ramon in Isabela. Her hands were bound, and her body was wrapped in a blanket. Authorities believe her body had been submerged in water for four to five days. She was initially reported missing on February 20, prompting a flash alarm from the Alfonso Lista police.

The San Mateo and Alfonso Lista police are collaborating to investigate her movements after she was last seen riding a motorcycle in Santa Maria, Alfonso Lista. Her motorcycle has been recovered, but reports suggest she may have transferred to another motorcycle before disappearing. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death. The investigation continues to identify and apprehend those responsible for the crime. #
