CABATUAN, ISABELA – Isang lalaki, ang inaresto ng kapulisan mula sa Cabatuan Police Station sa pangunguna ni PCPT JEREMIAS C VINIEGAS, DCOP sa ilalim ng direktang pangangasiwa ni PMAJ ARTURO O CACHERO, COP, RIU 2, RMU 2, at PIU Isabela nitong Abril 5, taong kasalukuyan dahil sa paglabag nito sa kasong RA 10591 o kilala bilang Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

Matagumpay na naisagawa ang pagpapatupad ng Search Warrant Blg. 08-2024 na inilabas ni Honorable REYMUNDO L AUMENTADO, Executive Judge, RTC Branch 20, Office of the Executive Judge, Cauayan City.

Sa nasabing operasyon, ang naarestong suspek ay nakilalang si Alyas Danny, 44-anyos, may asawa at residente ng Brgy. La Paz, Cabatuan, Isabela. Nakumpiska mula rito ang isang (1) unit ng kalibre colt 45 na may serial no. 220658, isang (1) unit ng kalibre 38 walang serial no., tatlong (3) pirasong magazine para sa kalibre 45, dalawampung (20), piraso ng live ammunition ng kalibre 45, dalawamput-siyam (29) na piraso ng live ammunition ng kalibre 9mm, siyam (9) na empty shell ng kalibre 45, siyam (9) na piraso ng walang laman na shell ng kalibre 9mm, isang (1) pirasong kulay itim na side holster at isang (1) pirasong itim na swiss gear sling bag na nakalagay sa loob ng gibi box ng kanyang Honda TMX 125 na nakaparada sa loob ng kanyang bahay.

Ang operasyon ay naisagawang nang maayos at tahimik na kung saan saksi ang Brgy Kagawad na si Kgwd. Rodante M. Gabat, mula sa kaparehong lugar, Ms. Rio Coseteng, kinatawang ng Media at ang subject person.

Ipinagbigay alam sa suspek ang kanyang karapatan, ayun sa prinsipyong tinatawag ng Miranda Doctrine at matapos nito ay dinala na ito sa Cabatuan Police Station kasama ang mga nakumpiskang ebidensya para sa pormal na dokumentasyon at disposisyon at para na din masampahan ng naangkop na kaso sa korte.

ICRC Nahulian ng mga Improvised Explosive Device, at mga Armas

Ika 4 Abril 2024, samut-saring Improvised Explosive Device (IED), homemade grenades, mga matataas na kalibre na armas mga kagamitan sa paglikha ng IED at Granada, ammonium phosphate, bala at iba pang kasangkapan ng paglikha ng IED ang nasabat ng 501st Infantry Brigade sa loob ng tatlong buwan na kampanya laban sa grupo ng KLG North Abra na nahantong sa engkwentro noong ika 2 ng Abril 2024 sa Brgy. Nagcanasan, Pilar, Abra.

Ang mga gamit na ito ay nakuha sa kanilang nilisanang kampo habang tinutugis ng 501st Infantry Brigade at ng mga battalion na naka pa loob dito ang mga humigit sa tatlumpung miyembro ng Ilocos Cordillera Regional Committee.

Ang mga aktibidad ng mga CPP-NPA-NDF o mga komunistang teroristang grupo ay malinaw na indikasyon sa paglabag sa International Humanitarian Law (IHL). Ang sunod-sunod na pagkadiskubre ng kampohan, mga armas at kagamitang pandigma, lalong-lalo na ang mga nadiskubreng Improvised Explosive Devices/Homemade grenades at ibang kagamitang pampasabog ang siyang patunay ng paglabag at pagwawalang-bahala nila sa IHL. Kung ating aalalahanin ang soccer star na si Keith Absalon ay binawian ng buhay habang siya at ang kanyang mga pinsan ay nag bibisikleta sa bayan nila Anas, Masbate City, noong ika 8 ng Hunyo 2021, pahayag ni Army Major Rigor Pamittan, tagapagsalita ng 5th Infantry Division.#

SECURITY GUARD WANTED FOR THE CRIME OF MURDER ARRESTED AFTER 19 YEARS OF HIDING

As a result of the continuous conduct of extensive manhunt operations by PRO Cordillera cops, an individual charged with the crime of murder who went into hiding for 19 years finally fell into the long arms of the law after he was arrested by the Haggiyo cops of the Ifugao Police Provincial Office (PPO) in Brgy Poblacion West, Lamut, Ifugao on April 2, 2024.

Based on the reports submitted to the PRO Cordillera Regional Director, PBGEN DAVID K PEREDO, JR, the arrested suspect is a 41-year-old male, resident of Brgy La Fortuna, Impasug-ong, Bukidnon, and listed as a National Most Wanted Person with reward covered by DILG Memorandum Circular # 2009-29.

According to Ifugao PPO, the joint operatives of Lamut Municipal Police Station (MPS), Provincial Intelligence Unit, and the 145 SAC 14th SAB of the PNP SAF, arrested the suspect by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Romeo U Habbiling of RTC Branch 14 Lagawe, Ifugao, issued on August 14, 2013, for the crime of murder.

The same report disclosed that the crime was committed on March 9, 2005, in Lamut wherein the suspect shot the victim causing his instantaneous death.

After documentation, the suspect was turned over by Lamut MPS to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology-Ifugao District Jail in Tiger Hill, Baguingey, Kiangan, Ifugao for proper disposition.#

Senior High School students of Happy Hollow National High School recently engaged in a dynamic career guidance program conducted in Brgy. Happy Hollow, Baguio City.

Spearheaded by the Northern Luzon Command of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) in collaboration with the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15 (RMFB15), the initiative aimed to enlighten students about the requisites, prospects, and responsibilities associated with careers in the uniformed services.

As part of the program, the team conducted lectures, emphasizing the essential qualities of discipline, dedication, integrity, perseverance, and the pursuit of education as fundamental pillars for success in life. This guidance program not only provided students with invaluable insights into potential career trajectories but also reinforced the ethos of responsibility and service within the community.

This career guidance program is part of Project UniVISITy, which started on February 5, 2024, and aims to equip students with pertinent information and perspectives on various career paths and encourage youth to contribute to ensuring peace and order in the community.#

Ranniel Semana, Cauayan film documenter, wins best docu in Montañosa Film Festival

Local film maker Ranniel “Niel” Semana, the director and producer of “Ino” a documentary film during the 4th Montañosa Film Festival, won the major awards such as the Best Festival Film, Gold Documentary Category, and APFI Film Apprentice Full Scholarship Award recently.

Semana, a graduating Mass Communication student of the University of Perpetual Help Laguna-Isabela Campus, also won minor awards such as the Social Justice Award, Independent Spirit Award, Humanitarian Award and Documentary Film Award.

Film Festival judges include National Artist for Music Ryan Cayabyab, Festival Competition Director Emman de la Cruz, and Filipino filmmakers Pepe Diokno, Joyce Bernal, Zig Dulay, and Dingdong Dantes.

ADDURU, TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan- Sa isang matagumpay na operasyon laban sa ilegal na droga, naaresto ng operatiba ng Regional Drug Enforcement Unit 2 katuwang ang kapulisan ng Enrile ang isang High Value Target at nakumpiska ang malaking halaga ng marijuana ngayong araw, ika-27 ng Marso, 2024.

Naaresto si alyas “Jhun”, 24-taong gulang sa San Jose, Enrile, Cagayan.

Nakumpiska sa kanyang pangangalaga isang bloke ng hinihinalang marijuana na may tinatayang timbang na 1000 grams at nagkakahalaga ng P120,000.00. Bukod pa rito, nakuha rin sa kanya ang buy-bust na ginamit sa operasyon.

Nasa kustodiya ngayon ng Enrile Police Station si Jhun at nahaharap sa kasong paglabag sa RA 9165 o Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

“Ang pagkahuli sa nasabing High Value Target ay patunay na hindi kami titigil sa kampanya laban sa ilegal na droga. Ito ay patunay na ang ating mga pagsisikap at dedikasyon ay nagbubunga ng positibong resulta. Patuloy nating tutugunan ang mga hamon at patuloy na magtutulungan upang masugpo ang iligal na droga sa ating komunidad,” saad ni PBGen Birung.#

Implementation of search and warrant yields over P54K Shabu, six drug personalities arrested

As part of PRO Cordillera’s relentless efforts in the campaign against illegal drugs, over P54K worth of suspected shabu and six drug personalities were arrested during the implementation of a search warrant conducted in Sitio Timoy, Brgy Puguis, La Trinidad, Benguet on March 25, 2024.

Based on the reports submitted to PRO Cordillera Regional Director, PBGEN DAVID K PEREDO, JR, two of the arrested male suspects are aged 24 and 39 and are listed as High Value Individuals; while the others are all listed as Street Level Individuals.

According to the same report, the suspects were arrested after the joint operatives of Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit, Regional Intelligence Division, La Trinidad Municipal Police Station (MPS), Benguet Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, Benguet Provincial Intelligence Unit, and Regional Intelligence Unit-14 implemented a search warrant that resulted in the discovery of 10 sachets of suspected shabu weighing more or less 8 grams with a Standard Drug Price of Php54,400.00 and assorted drug paraphernalia.

Marking and inventory of the pieces of evidence recovered were done on-site in the presence of the suspects and witnessed by media representative, Mr. Darius Bajo, and Barangay Kagawad of Puguis, Mr. Jason Bulasao.

The suspects and the confiscated pieces of evidence are now under the custody of La Trinidad MPS for documentation and proper disposition.#

PRO CORDILLERA DEPLOYS 2,308 POLICEMEN TO ENSURE SAFE HOLY WEEK AND SUMVAC OBSERVANCE

In anticipation of the upcoming Holy Week and the onset of the summer vacation, the Police Regional Office Cordillera (PRO Cordillera) Regional Director, PBGEN DAVID K PEREDO, JR, ordered the deployment of a total of 2,308 policemen region-wide to ensure the safety of residents and visitors.

To manage the anticipated influx of travelers, PRO Cordillera cops will be stationed at major thoroughfares and transportation hubs, providing assistance and maintaining order, especially since passengers are expected to flock to the different bus terminals to go home to their respective provinces in the coming days.

Furthermore, officers will be strategically positioned in commercial areas such as malls, parks, markets, and locations hosting religious activities to enhance public safety and uphold orderliness.

Apart from the deployment plan, PBGEN PEREDO JR convened a meeting with PRO Cordillera key officers, where he instructed them to ensure flawless implementation of their security plans, specifically to conduct intensified police patrols, checkpoint operations, and traffic management.

PBGEN PEREDO JR, also instructed the Provincial Directors and City Directors to coordinate with other concerned agencies, especially the Local Government Units, to ensure the safety of the public in their respective areas of responsibility.

In addition to police personnel, 353 individuals, comprising the Reactionary Standby Support Force and volunteers, will be deployed to supplement security measures during the holiday period.

The Holy Week and the Day of Valor, or “Araw ng Kagitingan” observance, mark the start of summer vacation; thus, PRO Cordillera cops are already conducting preventive security measures to ensure the safety of the public.#
