With the assistance from Department of Labor and Employment-Nueva Vizcaya Field Office (DOLE-NVFO), four workers of a manufacturing company received ₱47,776 settlement amount covering wage differentials and unpaid holiday pay last December 23, 2024 in Kayapa, Nueva Vizcaya

General Labor Standards (GLS) infractions were discovered during an inspection that was brought on by worker complaints in 2022, which resulted in the financial award. Additionally, the business was fined ₱100,000 for violating Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHS).

Because the employer did not attend the mandatory conferences and resolve the violations during rectification, the Department issued a Compliance Order to the company.

To counter the DOLE Region 2 order, the employer appealed the decision to the Secretary of Labor and Employment on March 16, 2023. However, the initial order was upheld on October 10, 2023, after the appeal was dismissed for lack of merit.

Employers are strongly reminded by the resolution to respect labor laws and put their employees’ welfare first.#
