TUGUEGARAO CITY-About 50 hospital patients have been evacuated preemptively in district hospitals in Cagayan on July 30, especially those near the seawaters as the tsunami alert was hoisted by the PhiVolcs.

The patients at the Ballesteros District Hospital at the Cagayan Breeding Station while the patients at the Aparri Provincial Hospital in Aparri, Sta. Ana Community Hospital in Santa Ana, and Alfonso Ponce Enrile Memorial District Hospital in Gonzaga have also prepared themselves for emergency evacuation.

Dr. Rebecca Battung, Cagayan provincial health officer, has ordered hospital chiefs to coordinate with the disaster responders in their respective towns for tsunami evacuation plans and actions.

Other hospitals in the region have also been on alert due to the tsunami warning.

As this developed, the Coast Guard District Northeastern Luzon members in Aparri, Gonzaga, Santa Ana, Claveria, and Buguey in Cagayan have noted less-than-a-meter-high waves in their monitoring but no reported casualties or tsunamis.#
