BATANES –Members of the Batanes Provincial Disaster Risk-Reduction Management Council met at the provincial capitol in preparation for Typhoon Bising.
Although it will not directly hit the center of Batanes, the province was then experiencing heavy rains, thunder and lightning, Batanes Governor Jun Aguto said.
Search and rescue equipment and other facilities have been prepared while the disaster responders have been on duty except for the on-call staff. During the meeting, Governor Aguto said that preparations and actions will be “pro-active” so there is a 24/7 Operations Center stationed at the capitol.#
