The Cagayan Valley Center for Health and Development (CVCHD) launched the “Alas Kwatro Kontra Mosquito” campaign to combat the rising cases of dengue in the region and across the country.

In partnership with government agencies, local governments, health offices, and others, the Centers for Health Development launched the “Alas Kwatro Kontra Mosquito” nationally.

The campaign seeks to eradicate mosquito breeding grounds and stop the spread of dengue illness by simultaneously cleaning all public and private areas at precisely four in the afternoon.

“This activity aims to strengthen our collective efforts to control the spread of dengue by identifying and eliminating areas that may be breeding grounds for mosquitoes,” said the agency.

The department states that in addition to the concurrent cleanup, the significance of the 5S Against Dengue—Search and Destroy, Secure Self-Protection, Seek Early Consultation, Support Fogging and Spraying, and Sustain Hydration—will be further promoted as an extra line of defense against the illness.

According to the CVCHD, implementing the “Alas Kwatro Kontra Mosquito” and the 5S Against Dengue is an essential step in halting the increase in disease cases and protecting every family from the dengue virus.

In order to stop dengue and other mosquito-borne illnesses from spreading, the department is still urging the public to support the effort by keeping the surroundings clean.#
