The Provincial Veterinary Office (PVET) of the Provincial Government of Cagayan initiated a mass vaccination campaign against rabies among 891 pet dogs and cats in Baggao, Cagayan recently.
As the PVET’s participation in the celebration of Rabies Awareness Month this March with the theme “Rabies-free dogs and cats, safety of the Filipino family,” workers vaccinated 891 dogs and cats from Barangays San Miguel, San Jose, Sta.
Margarita, and Asassi, Baggao, Cagayan free of charge against rabies. Dr. Myka Ponce, Veterinarian IV, said the vaccination campaign for pets in Baggao was led by Dr. Wilfredo Iquin Jr., Supervising Agriculturist of the office in collaboration with the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO), and several barangay officials.
The 501 fur parents were very grateful for the free service provided by the office. The aim is to inform animal owners about responsible and proper care to further expand knowledge on rabies awareness and control, Ponce added.#
