TUGUEGARAO CITY-Police seized two boxes of 20-gram marijuana bricks and dried stalks worth P2.4-million at a police checkpoint in Talaca, Agbannawag, Tabuk City, Kalinga on July 23 night, police said.
Police Major Garry Gayamos, Kalinga police spokesperson, said the 20 marijuana bricks were seized when police manning the checkpoint were alerted of two boxes for transport to Bocaue Exit in Bulacan.
A passenger van driver stopped at the checkpoint and asked the assigned police to permit him to fetch two boxes of coffee in Agbannawag, Tabuk City.
Instead, the man allegedly fetched another man and brought him to New Balbalan, Lacnog East, Tabuk City instead. The boxes were then loaded into the van. The driver said he doubted the content of the boxes so he complained to the police.
When the boxes were opened, it was found to contain marijuana bricks and dried stalks.#
